Second, the Tom and Jerry metaphor is brilliant. So well said. I went through a stage (still there, sometimes), where I felt that beating people about the head with Romans 9 was the best way to handle things. Or feeling smug that I understood grace and others didn’t (chew on that irony awhile). How easy we forget that we can’t be the Holy Spirit for others.
