I also like how you point out that Jesus is never shown “parading his godly superiority over us”. Nowhere does he say, “Can’t you see how perfect I am? Why aren’t you perfect too?” Instead he offers a new covenant of life in him, the only true (or authentic) life there is, and he’s the one who’s going to do all the living for us and through us.
